The Maximum SPL (Sound Pressure Level) for a microphone is the loudest sound the microphone can capture without distortion.
The Rich Recording Technology in Nokia 808 has a SPL of ~ 140dB

The question: How loud is 140dB. Is it loud enough?
1. At loud rock concert the maximum sound is 115db
2. Above 125db pain begins
3. A jet engine produces 140dB sound!
4. Even short term exposure can cause permanent damage at 140dB!!!

So 808 PureView will allow you to record any sound without distortion that the human ear can tolerate. 140db +-5 is the maximum SPL of most modern dedicated mics also. How amazing is that?
